my experience with linux

i'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux..

(ongoing)

I've had linux for about what? 3 weeks? And i wanted to share my experience with it so far

I'll be talking about (ubuntu) linux mint because that's the distro i have right now. If i distro hop to something else like arch or hannah montana linux i'll talk about those later

3 weeks before i installed linux, i was actually a HUGE windows fangirl. I had so many VMs and loved all the windows versions

This was until windows recall was announced...

I know windows already spied on me, but screenshots were my breaking point. It's literally the alphabet boys dream!

linux mint

Linux mint is very beginner friendly as it's easy to install and has a familiar interface. But just because it's easy to install doesn't mean it's not customizable and (more, i'm aware of ubuntus data collection) secure than windows. Trying to customize windows will literally make it break itself!!!

The applications are also pretty nice. There's libre versions of basically the whole microsoft office pack, which also prevents me from using more of stinky googles services

The terminal is pretty easy to understand. When i had windows, i NEVER used the terminal/command prompt, cause you don't need too. I actually made my terminal all cute with neofetch too

My favourite part of linux is actually booting up my computer. It's so quick compared to windows. And updating too!! I don't have to reboot, just a little download

Although i might distro hop because of the ubuntu data collection. It might not be THAT serious but it's better to be safe then sorry...

I plan to distro hop to arch, see how i like that, then maybe harder distros like gentoo or LINUX FROM SCRATCH.

idk anymore
